It had been a difficult year for businessman Raj Kundra, which forced the once avid social media user to cut off from the digital world.

On actress-wife Shilpa Shetty-Kundra's 47th birthday on Wednesday, he finally decide to return to Twitter after a hiatus of almost one year.

Alongside a goofy a picture of himself with Shetty-Kundra, the 46-year-old said that he was grateful to have his 'soulmate' by his side. "Love you eternally. My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who you are, to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness," his caption read.

The couple has been married since 2009, and have two children together - son Viaan (10) and daughter Samisha (2).

Kundra's last post on Twitter was on July 19 last year. However, the businessman is still keeping his distance from Instagram.

He was arrested in July 2021 for allegedly producing pornographic videos and was granted bail in September. He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act and the Information Technology Act.

The businessman had claimed there was no evidence of him being "actively" involved in the creation of alleged questionable porn content. He had said he was falsely implicated and was not even named in the FIR and was dragged by the respondent (police) in the case.

Last month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) lodged an anti-money-laundering investigation into an alleged pornographic films case in which Kundra and others were arrested by the Mumbai Police crime branch in 2021.

The federal agency has filed a complaint under the criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after studying at least two police first information reports (FIRs) and subsequent charge sheets before a court.

The ED will specifically look into the trail of funds and alleged proceeds of crime that could have been generated by the accused and others in the case related to the creation and sale of these films.
