Neuroscience says you can train your brain to think positive
You can indeed manifest realising your dreams. According to neuroscience, thinking positively can and does align your brain to your goals and help you turn your cherished dreams into a reality. Taking to Instagram, neurosurgeon Dr Lee Warren explained how not just neuroscience, but maths too, can help you emerge as a winner.

Mathematics has a concept known as an ergodic system, which describes how repeated attempts can eventually make a possible outcome increasingly unavoidable. If there is even a slight possibility of moving from your present position toward a desired destination, continuing to pursue that possibility again and again dramatically reduces the likelihood of never reaching it. With enough attempts, what once seemed uncertain can begin to look almost inevitable.

The human brain follows a surprisingly similar pattern. Whenever you repeatedly choose a particular response—remaining composed rather than giving in to fear, accepting reality instead of believing something untrue, or making another attempt rather than walking away—you reinforce the neural connections associated with that behavior. Each repetition makes that pathway stronger and more familiar. In this sense, progress is not simply a matter of wishing for change. Consistent practice gradually builds the mental patterns that make the desired response easier and more automatic.

You Can ‘Train’ Your Brain

According to Stanford Medicine blog, this phenomenon is known as neuroplasticity. It is your brain’s ability to reorganise and remake it’s structure in response to stimulus. When you repeat certain thought.s you create specific pathways in your brain.

Activities should have the following qualities in order for your brain to adapt effectively:

Fun and Meaningful

Your brain needs to feel driven to learn. Your brain wants to learn more when it's enjoyable. Having a purpose or meaning in real life makes a tremendous difference.

Simple to Learn, Difficult to Master

Example: When you were younger, you learned A to Z. It would be simple to learn Z to A backward, but it would be quite challenging to become proficient. Brain development is fuelled by this challenge.

Novel

New knowledge, a new musical chord, a new language. Your brain will gain from doing it slowly, gradually, and repeatedly.

Specifics Matter

If you want to be better at playing the guitar, you have to practise the guitar everyday.

Repetition Helps

While it may be boring, repetition helps the brain absorb information. The activity needs to be challenging and “difficult” to the brain, something you need to work on.

Never Give Up On Hope

Hope is essential for neuroplasticity to work. When you have optimism, your brain is more likely to develop new neurones, improve connections, and flood itself with feel-good neurochemicals.

Sleep Is A Must

At this point, neuroplasticity truly takes place. Deep restorative sleep is when it all happens—when the brain integrates all that practice—after five to six days or weeks of practicing the piano, Rock Steady Boxing, or cycling more vigorously and quickly. Neuroplasticity cannot fully occur without adequate sleep.
