Neeraj Chopra takes his Olympic gold to meet Abhinav Bindra; shooter gifts him a golden retriever pup named 'Tokyo'

Bindra said he hoped 'Tokyo' would motivate Chopra to get a sibling named 'Paris' in 2024.

India's golden boys strike a pose with Tokyo.
India's golden boy Neeraj Chopra recently introduced his Olympic gold medal to "its elder sibling from Beijing," and enjoyed the "warm hospitality of the Bindra family."

The 23-year-old, who brought home India's first-ever Olympic gold in track & field at Tokyo 2020, spent a "wonderful afternoon" with the country's first individual Olympic gold winner, Abhinav Bindra.

The 38-year-old shooter also had a special present for Chopra - a golden retriever pup, aptly named 'Tokyo'. The javelin thrower called him "the newest member of the Chopra family."

The Olympians took to social media to share pictures from their meeting.

Bindra posted a picture with Chopra and Tokyo, said it was a pleasure to meet the young athlete.

"I hope that “Tokyo” will be a supportive friend and motivate you to get a sibling named Paris for him in 2024!," Bindra added.

Chopra also shared glimpses from the lunch, including a photo with the Bindra family, and wrote, "Took my Olympic medal to meet its elder sibling from Beijing today. Thank you @Abhinav_Bindra sir for your family's warm hospitality and for 'Tokyo' who I will cherish forever!"

Chopra also thanked Manisha Malhotra, Head of Sports Excellence and Scouting, JSW Sports, for making the meeting happen. Malhotra, who has worked with both Bindra and Chopra, also posted a picture with the two golden men.

Malhotra posted a video of Chopra playing with Tokyo, along with the caption, "Just two GOLDEN Boys playing!!!"

Ever since his historic win at the Tokyo Olympics this year, Chopra has been the centre of attention. From felicitations to advertisements, he's every where. He made an appearance on an episode of Amitabh Bachchan's 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', and his latest stint in a video ad for startup Cred had the Internet swooning over his acting skills.
