Olympian Neeraj Chopra checks another dream off his list, takes parents on maiden flight

The gold-medallist shared pictures from the aircraft on social media.

This is a special year for Olympian Neeraj Chopra. After fulfilling his life-long dream of bagging a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, the javelin thrower has managed to check another small, yet important, dream off his list.

The Olympic champion took his parents - Satish Kumar and Saroj Devi - on their maiden flight journey on Saturday. The trio were were travelling to the Inspire Institute of Sports in Bellary, Karnataka, for an event organised by his promoter JSW Sports.



The 23-year-old Olympic champion thanked people for their wishes and blessings that helped him achieve this dream.

Chopra shared three pictures of himself with his parents on board a plane.

Besides Chopra and his parents, his coach and German biomechanics expert Klaus Bartonietz and Olympian super heavyweight boxer Satish Kumar were also seen seated inside the aircraft.

In less than six hours, the post has received 14.5K retweets and 139.4K likes.

The athlete 23-year-old Chopra had created history when he won India's maiden Olympic medal in athletics - a javelin gold in the recently-concluded Games in Tokyo 2020.
