Nagarjuna never spoke on Samantha-Naga Chaitanya split, actor slams recent report as 'false and absolutely nonsense'

Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna Rao on Thursday quashed media reports which quoted him speaking on his son Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's separation.

The actor took to Twitter to set the record straight and said that all the reports quoting him were "completely false and absolutely nonsense".

A media organisation had published an interview with Nagarjuna where it allegedly quoted the star saying that his son was worried about the family's reputation and it was Samantha who wanted to separate.


The report became a trending topic on the Internet with several other media organisation carrying the news. But the actor never gave such interview or made any quotes on his son's separation with Samantha.

Nagarjuna took to his official Twitter handle to issue a statement on the matter.

"The news in social media and electronic media quoting my statement about Samantha & Nagachaitanya is completely false and absolute nonsense!!," he said.

The actor further requested people in the media to not post such rumours.

"I request media friends to please refrain from posting rumours as news," the statement added.


Samantha and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot in 2017 and announced their separation in October last year.

They also starred in 2010 film 'Ye Maaya Chesave'.

Samantha previously slammed several reports that started circulating online weeks after the two officially announced their separation. The reports accused the actress as the cause behind the split.

"Our emotional investment into a personal crisis has overwhelmed me. Thank you all for showing deep empathy, concern and for defending me against false rumours and stories that are being spread. They say I had affairs, never wanted children, that I am an opportunist, and now that I have had abortions," Samantha wrote on her Instagram as a Story.
