Domestic help
As per the nutrition expert, domestic help is easily available in India, so you do not always have to worry about the basic chores like cooking, cleaning, and laundry. ‘You can hire a cook for less than what you spend eating out,’ she said, adding that a full-time cook charges around Rs 8000 to Ra 12,000 per month, which is equal, if not more than, the amount you tend to spend on food delivery apps. Sanya Wadhera advised everyone to redirect the money to home-cooked meals.
Drawing a stark comparison, the nutritionist explained that people overseas usually spend 2-3 hours a day on household chores. But due to the easy availability of house help in India, you can use those hours to exercise or simply rest and use the time for yourself.
Cheap health check-ups
Sanya Wadhera previously pointed out how Indians spend lakhs of money on weddings but delay health check-ups, even though they are comparatively cheap in the country. In her latest post, she noted that a full-body check-up in India costs somewhere around Rs 3000-4000, whereas in countries like the US, check-ups can cost lakhs without insurance.
Quick commerce facilities
Online quick commerce facilities have become a game-changer in India, with grocery items like chicken eggs, paneer, vegetables and fruits delivered at your doorstep in minutes. So, Sanya Wadhera shared that there’s no excuse for saying ‘I didn’t have healthy food at home’, because a full kitchen restock can be done at any time of the day within 10 minutes.
Fresh food availability
India stresses the importance of having fresh, home-cooked meals, unlike in foreign countries, where people cook in batches on a Sunday and eat the same food all week by reheating. ‘The infrastructure for eating well already exists in your household,’ she emphasised.
Moderate weather
Indian weather is not too extreme and is perfectly balanced, allowing you to train outdoors almost year-round. Walking, running, outdoor parks, and morning sessions can be done 10 months a year, unlike half the world, which is stuck indoors for 6 months.
