Mirzapur The Movie is currently running in theatres. Fans finally got to watch the film after a long wait as it hit cinema halls on September 4. Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar and others, the film has also brought a major update regarding its sequel. The movie opened on a strong note at the box office and surpassed Saiyaara's opening.

Mirzapur The Movie post-credit scene explained

For fans who stayed until the end, the post-credit scene delivers one of the film's biggest surprises. Unlike the intense world audiences usually associate with Mirzapur, the sequence starts on a rather relaxed note.

Guddu Pandit, Munna Bhaiya and Bablu are seen at a salon. While Guddu and Munna are busy getting facials, Bablu sits beside them and remains occupied with his phone. He is texting Golu, but Munna soon notices his behaviour and becomes curious.

Munna asks Bablu if he is secretly talking to a girlfriend. Bablu appears too shy to answer directly. Guddu then joins the conversation and casually reveals that he has a girlfriend whom he loves very much.

What follows is a playful exchange between Guddu and Munna. The two decide to reveal the names of the women they are in love with at the same time. They count to three before saying the names together.

That is when the seemingly harmless conversation takes a surprising turn.

Guddu and Munna's schoking twist

Guddu says Swaranjali, while Munna says Sweety. The two quickly realise that they are talking about the same woman.

The revelation is particularly interesting for fans of the original Mirzapur series because Sweety Gupta, played by Shriya Pilgaonkar, has been closely connected to both Guddu and Munna's stories. In the series, Munna is interested in Sweety, but she chooses Guddu instead. Their relationship eventually becomes one of the factors that intensify the rivalry between the two men.

However, Mirzapur The Movie appears to take a different route with the characters. Instead of simply repeating the storyline from the series, the film uses the relationship between Guddu and Munna to create a new situation.

The post-credit sequence then takes an even darker turn. After discovering that they are in love with the same woman, Guddu and Munna's conversation escalates. The scene ends with gunshots, but the movie does not reveal what happens immediately afterwards.

That abrupt ending leaves audiences with a major question: what happens to Guddu and Munna after the gunshots?

The scene therefore works as both a surprise for fans and a potential bridge to another chapter of the story.

Is Mirzapur The Movie sequel coming?

The ending has naturally increased curiosity around a possible sequel. More importantly, the sequel to Mirzapur The Movie has reportedly been confirmed, as reported by Times Now.

The Guddu-Munna-Sweety angle could become an important part of the next film. The sequel could explore how the two men deal with the revelation that they are interested in the same woman and, more importantly, what happens after the gunshots.

The film's approach is also different from what happened in the original series. In the first season of Mirzapur, Sweety's death becomes a major turning point. Munna shoots her during an intense confrontation, unaware that she is pregnant with Guddu's child. Her death, along with Bablu's, sets Guddu on a path of revenge against the Tripathi family.

The subsequent seasons focus heavily on Guddu's battle against the Tripathis and his efforts to take control of Mirzapur. Mirzapur The Movie, however, appears to be exploring an alternate path for these familiar characters.

The film itself is set in 2018 and follows Kaleen Bhaiya, played by Pankaj Tripathi, as he orders Guddu and Bablu to kill the son of an ally who has betrayed him. Munna is unhappy with his father's growing trust in the Pandit brothers, creating another source of tension.

Ravi Kishan enters the story as Babban, adding another major personality to the mix. His interactions with Guddu, Munna and Bablu become an important part of the film's story.

The cast also includes several familiar faces from the franchise, including Rasika Dugal, Abhishek Banerjee, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Shweta Tripathi and others. Jitendra Kumar plays Bablu Pandit in the film, taking over the role previously played by Vikrant Massey in the series.

With the sequel reportedly confirmed, the final post-credit scene could prove to be more than just a fun surprise. Stay tuned for more updates!
