Mirzapur The Movie, helmed by debutant director Gurmeet Singh, opened in theatres on September 4. The film, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu and Ravi Kishan in the lead, has impressed audiences, generating strong numbers at the ticket window. Even before its release, Mirzapur made quite the buzz, with expectations running high owing to the already popular Mirzapur series on Prime Video. Now, it seems like the expectations have finally paid off.

According to Sacnilk, Mirzapur The Movie amassed Rs 32 crore across 11,256 shows on Day 2 (September 5). This brings the movie’s total India gross collections to Rs 69.30 crore and total India net collections to Rs 57.75 crore as of now.

Overseas, Mirzapur The Movie, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment, collected Rs 6.00 crore on Day 2, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 10.25 crore so far, reported Sacnilk. With this, the film’s total box office collection worldwide now stands at Rs 79.55 crore.

Mirzapur The Movie, presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, marks the return of Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi. Rasika Dugal and Harshita Gaur also return as Beena Tripathi and Dimpy Pandit, respectively. Shweta Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Sushant Singh and Mohit Malik are also a part of the cast.

Mirzapur: The Movie is currently facing box-office competition with Kannada actor Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups and the spiritual drama Hanuman Ansh, featuring Shobhinaw Satyaa, which has been gaining momentum with each passing day. Mirzapur The Movie is also jostling for screen space with Arshad Warsi's 'Jeevan Bheema Yojana'.
