Captain Zoya Agarwal believes 80% of fitness is the food choices that you make.
Captain Zoya Agarwal loves to travel and reach new heights – literally and figuratively. She was the youngest woman pilot in India to fly a Boeing-777 in 2013 and earlier this year, she flew one of the world's longest air routes between San Francisco and Bengaluru with an all-female flight crew.
In a chat with ET Panache, Captain Agarwal tells us what she misses the most on her travels due to the pandemic and also what she looks forward to.
Eating out "I can’t wait to go back to Bombay Salad Company. I am a fitness fanatic and that doesn’t mean just going to the gym. For me, putting the right things inside my body is important too. 80% of fitness is the food choices that you make. I cannot live without salad. Coffee is almost a passion for me – love my extra hot soy latte from Starbucks, so I am excited to go back there and just sit there with my coffee. I enjoy fine dining and love street food as well. I fly to a lot of amazing destinations and can’t wait to enjoy scallops sitting inside a restaurant. I love the scallops at Girl & The Goat in Chicago and Flex Mussels in New York. In Napa Valley, JaM Cellars by John and Michelle is a must visit."
If Captain Zoya Agarwal was working from home, she said she would be flying planes on video games. Shopping "I love shopping in Europe. One of my favourite places is Champs-Élysées. I like Milan for their luxury shopping and atmosphere as well. Just before the lockdown, I missed out on buying a Chanel handbag – the classic mini. In May just at the start of the lockdown, Chanel increased their prices by 12% so I really wished I had bought it before. But everything happens for a reason and I am sure I will appreciate my new bag more… when I do buy it and Europe opens up."
Work from home "If I was working from home, I’d just be flying planes on video games that’s for sure. Fortunately for me, I do not like WFH as I am born to fly. There are a lot of tech I purchased because even during these times we were flying evacuation and repatriation flights. I did buy a gadgets related to fitness. Music is a must when I work out. It’s essential to us. I purchased the Bose Soundbar for my home theatre system. I also purchased the Powerbeats Bluetooth sets in pink. I just love them, they make my workouts so much better."
I’m feeling so grateful for each of the conversations I had on the first season of the #MichelleObamaPodcast. Thank… https://t.co/0TaSBqbSEE
Hobbies "I started playing golf during the lockdown and started to do a lot of mediation to stay relaxed. I played a lot of piano as well on my grand piano at home. A lot of Coldplay songs. It’s been quite a productive lockdown. I also listened to podcasts and recommend the one by Michelle Obama - a powerful woman with powerful words to be shared around the world. I advise all the women out there to listen to it to empower you."
