There are big Malayalam hits, Tamil romance, comedy, crime, action and even a few unusual stories waiting to be discovered. Whether you want a light watch, a thriller or something that takes you into a completely different world, the lineup has plenty to pick from.

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit – JioHotstar

Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is set to make its digital debut on JioHotstar on October 2. Directed by Girish A.D., the Malayalam romantic comedy-drama had a record-breaking theatrical run. The film crossed the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide and emerged as one of the biggest Malayalam box-office successes. Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju headline the film.


#Love – Netflix

The Tamil romantic comedy series #Love will premiere on Netflix on October 2. Aishwarya Lekshmi and Arjun Das play Tara and Matthew, two rival founders of dating apps. They enter a 60-day relationship challenge to settle their debate over whether chemistry or compatibility matters more in a relationship. However, their carefully planned experiment takes an unexpected turn as they spend more time together.



Don’t Trouble The Trouble – Theatres

Fahadh Faasil is set to headline Don’t Trouble The Trouble, an upcoming Telugu-Malayalam bilingual fantasy film directed by Shashank Yeleti. The actor stars alongside Ssara Palekar and Saurabh Sachdeva. The film is presented by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by S. S. Karthikeya, Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Showing Business and Arka Media Works. It also marks Fahadh’s first Telugu film as a lead actor. The movie is all set to release in theatres on October 2.

Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai – Theatres

Nivin Pauly will return to the big screen with Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 1. Directed by Ram, the Tamil fantasy drama also stars Soori and Anjali in key roles. The film features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The movie is primarily released in Tamil. While no official Malayalam-dubbed version has been announced, Nivin’s popularity in Kerala and its distribution by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films are expected to give the film a wide release in the state, with subtitles.



Avarachan & Sons – Theatres

The Malayalam family comedy-drama Avarachan & Sons is scheduled to release in theatres on October 2. Directed by Amal Sheela Thamby and produced by Listin Stephen under the Magic Frames banner, the film stars Biju Menon in the lead role.

Biju Menon plays Avarachan, a carefree widower whose actions land him and his family in trouble in his hometown of Chellanam. He and his sons, played by Sreenath Bhasi, Ganapathi and Vinay Forrt, are forced to leave the area and head towards a hill station in North Kerala. Grace Antony and Johny Antony are also part of the cast.

The film follows the family’s chaotic journey as they deal with unexpected situations, new friendships and changes in their lives. With comedy and family drama at its centre, Avarachan & Sons is among the Malayalam releases arriving in theatres this week.
