What to put in your coffee? Sugar or milk
According to Dr. Kumar's post on X (formerly Twitter), moderate coffee consumption is linked to many health benefits such as a lower risk of type 2 diabetes, some cancers, cardiovascular diseases, and even slower cognitive decline. However, these benefits are often diminished when coffee is loaded with sugar and high-calorie creamers. The added sugar and saturated fat bring extra calories and metabolic stress, which can counteract coffee’s positive effects on overall health.Small amounts of milk, Dr. Kumar explains, are unlikely to completely negate coffee’s benefits. But sugary lattes, flavored syrups, whipped cream, and heavy creamers can reduce or erase the protective effects that coffee offers. For those who want to enjoy coffee while reaping its full health advantages, the practical advice is simple: opt for black coffee or coffee with minimal milk and sugar.
Dr. Kumar also advises being mindful of daily caffeine limits, especially for pregnant women, children, and those with certain health conditions. He stresses that a moderate intake, about three cups per day, is generally safe and beneficial for most healthy adults.

So next time you reach for your coffee, consider skipping the extra sugar and cream to make sure you’re getting all the goodness this beloved beverage has to offer.
