Logitech G PRO X review: Ranks high on build quality & comfort, mic clarity is a highlight

Accessories brand Logitech has introduced a new headset for serious gamers dubbed as PRO X in its G series. The company claims to have collaborated with top gamers to provide the right fit for those who spend long hours to perfect their skill.


Gaming headsets come in different price ranges and mostly of them claim to offer accurate audio syncing. However, the G PRO X has a better microphone, comfortable design, and a pre-tuned equaliser ready for action. For newbies, it would be difficult to understand the minute differences, but if you are someone used to a couple of gaming headsets, you will immediately feel the difference.

For the money you are spending, the G PRO X does live up to its promise but there are better and more expensive headsets in the market. Having said that the headphones can give a tough fight to headsets from SteelSeries and ROG in this price range.

The G PRO X flaunts a new software called Blue VO!CE for which the company claims to have borrowed some wisdom from Blue Microphones. So what does this technology do? The software improves clarity of voice and also allows users to tune it as per their needs. Better mic clarity equals better pro gaming.

The G PRO X ranks high on build quality and comfort and Logitech has managed to provide a premium polish to it. But if you compare the design to other headsets, this one is too plain vanilla, especially in front of the ROG series.

However, their structure is sturdy and is made of aluminium and steel along with leather-wrapped headband while the earpads are made of soft memory foam. The pressure of the earpads are not too hard on the ears.

This DTS 2.0 surround headset features PRO-G 50 mm precision drivers with pre-tuned equalizer settings available on the G HUB software suite. The headphones come with the regular detachable mic and PC cable with inline audio controls along with an external USB sound card.

On paper, the G PRO X might sound like a killer deal but you really can’t afford to forget the Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum 7.1 headset.

At a revised price of around Rs 16,999, the G933 Artemis is one of the best headsets Logitech has to offer. However, if you want a pre-tuned ready-to-play headset and is okay with wires, then the G PRO X feels slightly more evolved.
