Didwania feels that formals help in adding to the etiquette quotient and appeal even in the virtual world.
Although the pandemic gave a complete turnaround of lifestyle, it did take some time to get back to the routine for Harsh Didwania. Most of the lockdown was spent by the co-founder of EeVe in comfy pyjamas.
Formal first "I got back to wearing formals ever since the lockdown was lifted. It helps me get into the zone of work even while working from home," he says.
Zoom calls are the new thing in the new normal. We might not have to get decked up, but looking presentable at all work-related meetings is a must.
"I find formals the best to get on a Zoom call. Any light coloured formal shirt should do the work. Formals help in adding to the etiquette quotient and appeal even in the virtual world," he shares.
Right wear Looking presentable lights up the overall mood on the video call. "While most of us are at home, the least we can do is pair up with a nice piece of clothing. Team meeting and networking calls will again be in formals or semi-formals to be professional about the work we are doing. When I am on a Zoom call with friends, I wear athleisure or loungewear," he says.
In the lounge "My favourite loungewear brands are Marks & Spencer, US Polo Assn. I like them because they are comfortable and easy to use," he says.

Guilty buy 'The guilty indulgence wrt accessories was picking up an Armani watch that I had been eying for quite some time. I wouldn’t mind not calling it a guilty indulgence as all of us have learnt to find happiness in what we do, and this happened to be my happiness at that point in time," he says.
Missed accessory "I do like grooming myself for the face to face meetings. From my wardrobe, I missed wearing cufflinks. I find them unique with so many designs to choose from. I do have a huge collection of them but could not use them as there wasn't any occasion throughout the lockdown," he says.
Mask task "I use homemade masks. I have also picked up the WildKraft brand’s masks. Both these options are equally comfortable. I also did learn to make a mask with the cloth available at home, I could say that that was a lockdown activity," he shares.

Comfortable choice "Comfortable clothing keeps me sane and my mind free. I feel I’m more of a thinker with such clothing. Athleisure clothes are the most comfortable for me when I’m not on any call or away from my work. They are very homely too," he ends.

“I decided to use this opportunity to improve my physical conditioning. I started cycling (after more than 40 years) inside my gated community from mid-April. I went from seven kilometres per ride to 20 kilometres by the end of June. Recently, I did a 52-kilometre ride to Chikka Tirupathi [on the outskirts of Bengaluru]. Cycling has had a huge impact, not just on my physical conditioning but also my confidence.”

“Startups are quite demanding, so I’ve never been able to work out more than three days a week, even when I trained for the Ironman Triathlon. So, when the lockdown was announced, I decided to challenge myself with a ‘consistency goal’ of accomplishing a workout a day. It began with coordinated workouts on Zoom with my friends and as restrictions eased, I started going for outdoor runs. There were days when there would be so many calls that I’d be seen climbing the building stairs at 10 pm. I now have more than 100 days of workouts under my belt and it has been the biggest stressbuster.”

“During the lockdown, I have managed to master single-leg burpees. It’s important to have a defined schedule and stick to it. I ensure that I block out some time during the day for exercise. I work out at home daily with various bodyweight exercises — I do pushups, burpees and air squats. I love doing CrossFit and high-intensity interval training that combines weightlifting, aerobics, powerlifting and gymnastics.”
