Let that sink in! Elon Musk struts around Twitter HQ with washbasin in hand ahead of $44bn buyout deadline
Elon Musk posted a short video of his walk in the HQ lobby on his Twitter handle.

The SpaceX Chief took to his Twitter account to share a video of him sauntering around holding a sink. “Entering Twitter HQ - let that sink in!” tweeted Musk. The billionaire can be seen walking around casually with a wide grin. His move comes at a time when there has been apprehensions around his takeover and the chatter surrounding potential layoffs. Around the same time, the billionaire technocrat also changed his Twitter bio to ‘Chief Twit’.
Musk has been given time until Friday to close his agreement to acquire the social media giant by a US court. This would essentially mean that the months-long melodramatic acquisition tussle will finally come to an end. There have been several back-and-forths between Musk and Twitter in the past few months.

The 51-year-old had accused Twitter of violating the purchase agreement by misrepresenting the number of fake bot and spam accounts. Along with the accusation, Musk had terminated the deal in July.
Even as the deadline nears, it has been reported that the morale of the Twitter staff seems to be going down after Musk claimed his plans to cut 75 per cent of the staff following his takeover. According to a report by Punks and Pinstripes, as many as 530 employees have stepped down in the last three months. The report stated that there has been a 60 per cent increase in the number of workers leaving the company in the quarter.
