Krishna Raj Kapoor passes away at 87 after suffering cardiac arrest

Krishna Raj Kapoor was the sister of renowned actors Rajendra Nath, Prem Nath and Narendra Nath. Her sister Uma is married to Prem Chopra who made his mark as a villain Bollywood.

Krishna Raj Kapoor was often seen with her daughter-in-law, Neetu Singh. The two reportedly shared a warm relationship, and Singh, in earlier interviews has often mentioned that she had a very supportive mother-in-law who didn't have a problem with her acting career after her marriage .

In this May 2015 picture, actor Amitabh Bachchan is seen touching the feet of Krishna Raj Kapoor at the Prithvi Theatre where an event was organised to felicitate Shashi Kapoor with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had conferred the Phalke award to Shashi Kapoor for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Krishna Raj Kapoor was all of 16 when she got married. And right till the showman's death in 1988, she was by his side, providing constant support as Raj Kapoor battled various controversies. Often seen in stunning georgette sarees, with a choker round her neck, and shimmering red lipstick, she epitomised style. Her grandson Ranbir Kapoor often mentioned that his grandmother defined elegance.
