Kohli turns Santa Claus as Christmas comes early for underprivileged kids in Kolkata

Indian skipper Virat Kohli took out time from his busy schedule to turn into Santa Claus and spread some Christmas cheer in the city of joy.

A video posted on the Twitter handle of Star Sports, shows Kohli dressed as Santa Claus visit a shelter home in Kolkata, where children had expressed their desire to meet their icons such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Christiano Ronaldo and the skipper. The video then shows Kohli dressed up as Santa Claus who distributed gifts to the kids and later took off his artificial facial beard to present himself to one and all.


Kohli signed off with a message, saying, "These moments are special for me.” Kohli said in the video.


The cricketer is currently leading the team in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies. While the visitors won the first ODI by eight wickets in Chennai, the Men in Blue registered a commanding victory in the second game in Visakhapatnam to level the series.

The two teams will now face each other in the decider on Sunday in Cuttack.

In the lead-up to the 2011 World Cup, as part of a joint initiative by the ICC and 'Room to Read' to promote global literacy and access to books, Kohli revealed another favourite tome on his reading list.

“I like Andre Agassi’s autobiography. The author tells the story of his remarkable career, which featured many ups and downs.
