KJo aka Karan Johar is known as one of the more socially active celebs. Whether it is the latest gossip or fashion trends, the filmmaker-talk/ show host has never failed to keep up with the latest buzz on the Internet.
But it seems the ‘Koffee with Karan’ talk show host has decided to call it a day. In a tweet posted on Monday, the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ director declared that he has decided to take a break from the tweeting app. His post shared on October 10, at 3:00 pm reads, “Making space for more positive energies only and this is a step towards that. Goodbye twitter!”
The cryptic message is currently going viral on Twitter. While some followers are left wondering what may have driven the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai ‘ director to make such a decision, others are convinced this is a publicity stunt of some sort.
His post was met with several replies which ranged from concerned to hilarious. One social media user wrote, “@pikaso_me screenshot this.”Another reacted with biting humour. “We will pay tribute today to both. #karanjohar Twitter account and #Mulayam Singh Yadav. (referring to the late founder of the Samajwadi party who breathed his last on October 10) #RestInPeace. Another wrote a heartfelt response. “Focus on your mental health and ‘Brahmastra: Part 2’ Good luck. Sending positivity.”
Johar is still active on Instagram. He has about 13.3 million followers there. On Twitter he is followed by 17.2 million fans.
On the work front, Johar is busy with his next project 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. This Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh starrer will also mark KJo's return to film direction after seven years. his last directorial was 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' in 2016. The film dealt with the theme of unrequited love. It had an ensemble cast comprising of Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
