'KGF: Chapter 2' Hindi version mints Rs 330 cr, set to claim 'second-highest grossing film' title

Nearly two weeks after dominating the box-office, 'KGF: Chapter 2' is set to break the record held by Aamkir Khan-starrer 'Dangal' of the second-highest grossing Hindi film.

The Yash-starrer has secured a sweet spot in its second week since the release on April 14 in the Hindi-speaking markets.

Film experts believe it will cross the lifetime business of 'Sanju', 'PK' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' (which are at the third, fourth and fifth spot) by the end of its second week on Thursday.


Movie trade analyst Taran Aadarsh took to Twitter to announce that the movie had earned Rs 329.40 crore till Monday.


The film's Hindi-version is consistently improving its individual day collection. On Monday, it was named the sixth highest grossing Hindi film so far.

'KGF 2' cast its spell on Hindi moviegoers by crossing the magic figure of Rs 250 crore in its first week.

Collecting Rs 254.97 crore net (Rs 300.86 crore gross) over the last seven days in the Hindi belt, the film has emerged as the highest 1st-week collector.

Besides Yash, the film features Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi among others. It was released in five languages - Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.

After the success of 'KGF: Chapter 1' in 2018, film-maker Prashanth Neel wrote and directed the much-awaited sequel after four years.

KGF 2 is being presented in North-Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment and AA Films. Excel has given super hits like 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', 'Dil Dhadakne Do', and 'Gully Boy' among others.
