Diwekar insisted that although deemed “unhealthy” by Weight Watchers, ghee (clarified butter), banana, and rice are quite healthy. Indians combine rice with other proteins like pulses, meat, and vegetables. This automatically lowers the glycaemic index of rice. So it is perfectly okay for people with diabetes to have rice along with pulses and vegetables. She claimed that for most naysayers who oppose consumption of rice, there is no representation of the Indian thali. She then explained that a bowl of rice, daal, and vegetables can keep your stomach full, and the meal, if prepared at home, constitutes clean eating. This meal is high in fibre and helps you cleanse your gut and enables you to have a good night’s sleep. This also supports digestion.
Don’t Give Up On Ghee
She explained that ghee is rich in essential fats and butyric acid, which helps to keep your stomach healthy. It is also supposedly very good for strong joints. It also helps to assimilate fat-soluble vitamins like vitamins A, D, and E in our system. Vitamin E is important for our immune system; loss of vitamin E can increase hair fall, and lack of vitamin D causes back pain, knee issues, etc.Bananas Are Not The Bane Of Your Life
Like any whole fruit, bananas are rich in nutrients and fibre and are not synonymous with sugar. Although it has a high amount of natural sugar, it also has an insane quantity of fibre, vitamin B, and minerals. Rather than spiking your blood sugar, it helps keep it in check.
