‘Kantara’ director Rishab Shetty meets superstar Rajinikanth, says ‘eternally grateful’ to the icon

Kannada blockbuster ‘Kantara’ continues its dream run at the box office. The film recently became the third-highest-grossing Kannada film to gross over Rs 250 crore at the box office worldwide. The film has been praised by both critics and audiences.

Film-maker Rishab Shetty, who not only directed the film but also starred in it, recently met superstar Rajinikanth. The actor met the matinee idol days after the superstar gave his thumbs up to the action thriller that fuses folklore into a unique narrative.

After meeting the superstar, Shetty took to his Twitter account to share pictures with Rajinikanth. He captioned the pictures with words that seem to be taken from the megastar's popular dialogues. “If you praise us once, it is equivalent to being praised 100 times. Thank you, Rajinikanth Sir, we will be grateful to you for watching the film and praising it,” wrote Shetty in Kannada.


The 39-year-old actor can be seen touching the feet of Thalaivaa in one of the pictures.
A few days ago, the superstar took to his Twitter account to heap praise on ‘Kantara’. Rajinikanth said that the film gave him ‘goosebumps’.

“The unknown is more than the known” no one could have said this better in cinema than @hombalefilms #KantaraMovie you gave me goosebumps @shetty_rishab Rishab hats off to you as a writer,director and actor.Congrats to the whole cast and crew of this masterpiece in indian cinema,” tweeted Rajinikanth.
After his tweet, the Hombale team said that they felt encouraged by Rajinikanth’s words. "We’re proud of our rich culture and it is our endeavour to bring our proud culture to the world," read a tweet by the production house.
‘Kantara’ was released on September 30 and went on to gross over Rs 250 crore at the box-office. The film also stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishor, Achyuth Kumar and Pramod Shetty in key roles.
