'Kantara' becomes third-highest grossing Kannada film, set to beat Yash's 'KGF: Chapter 1'
The Rishab Shetty-starrer has collected a total of Rs 188 cr worldwide.

After a bumper Diwali weekend, the filmmaker-actor Rishab Shetty's latest release minted Rs 170 crore in India and Rs 18 crore overseas. With a total collection of Rs 188 crore (worldwide gross), the movie is now the second-highest grossing Kannada film of all time after Yash-starrer 'KGF: 2' - which made Rs 1,207 crore globally.
'Kantara' has managed to cross Sudeep-led 'Vikrant Rona' with Rs 158 crore collection, Puneeth Rajkumar-starrer James with Rs 151 crore and 'KGF: Chapter 1' with Rs 250 crore.
Production house Hombale Films, which also bankrolled 'Kantara', besides 'KGF 1' and 'KGF 2', was excited to share the Shetty-directorial's successful run in the theatres for over 25 days.

'Kantara' has raked in Rs 111 crore approximately so far in Karnataka, with Rs 14 crore the fourth weekend, which is double the full fourth week of 'KGF', reports say.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to social media to share that the Hindi version of the film, which was released on October 14, has collected a total of Rs 24.15 crore in the domestic market. However, the second week was 'rocky' compared to the first week.
