Culinary experiments are not a thing of the past. Love it or hate it, you just cannot ignore how people across the world are mixing up all sorts of ingredients to prepare unusually quirky dishes. These fusion meals sometimes get a thumbs up from our taste buds, while at other times, our palate simply rejects the uncanny concoction. Now, the internet seems to have found another bizarre trend. It is a chips and chocolate combo, which, when put together, transforms into a summer-friendly snack, aka a sweet and savoury ice cream roll.

Viral chips and chocolate ice cream

At its core, the ice cream is as simple as a DIY treat. All you have to do is take a can of Pringles chips, melt some chocolate and simply pour the rich, dark and velvety mixture into the can of chips, before keeping it in the refrigerator to set. The result? A thick, cylindrical block of crunchy, sweet-salty and chilled dessert.



Recently, food influencer Thomas Winkler tried his hand at the viral dessert recipe and shared it with his followers on Instagram. To make it, he took two bars of Hershey’s milk chocolate and broke them into small pieces before adding the chunks to a bowl. Next, Thomas put them in the microwave for 30 seconds before taking out the bowl.

In the following step, the digital creator grabbed a can of Pringles potato chips, tore open the seal and drizzled the gooey chocolate blend on top of the chips inside the can. After scooping out the last drop of the melted chocolate, he gave the can a gentle shake so that the chocolate mixed thoroughly. Then, Thomas simply covered the can with a lid.

The can was then put inside a refrigerator so that it could freeze. After some time, the food enthusiast brought out the can of chocolate-mixed Pringles, ready to savour the indulgent treat. He carefully peeled open the packet, revealing a thick block of chocolate and sliced it mindfully. The cylinder chocolate bar was so hard that he ended up making a mess, but that little mishap didn’t stop Thomas from fulfilling his mission.

The video concluded with the influencer taking a scrumptious bite of the chocolate and chips ice cream. His delightful expressions revealed how much he relished the sugary and savoury roll. Needless to mention, the post received multiple reactions. ‘The best viral recipe to ever exist,’ commented Pringles. Another suggested that Thomas Winkler should use a ‘chopping board’ the next time. ‘Potato chips mixed with chocolate is actually good is like sweet and savory a crunchy chocolate,’ noted a sugar-tooth.
