Jack Dorsey's ace leadership lessons: Put your team first, take creative risks
The Twitter CEO is considered a great leader for his unique management style.

Given his controversial decisions, Jack Dorsey may not be the most popular CEO, but within the companies he founded – Twitter and payments platform Square – Dorsey is considered a great leader for his unique management style. Recently fans and detractors got a glimpse of that style when Dorsey shared some sage life lessons with former Square CFO Sarah Friar.
In an email, Dorsey cautioned Friar to take more creative risks and to approach feedback with empathy. He also advised her to not only put her team first but to challenge them every day to reach their highest potential: “We must remember why they’re with us: to contribute to something bigger than themselves.”
“I’ve failed at all three of these.
It’s never easy. (But) If you could focus on one, I’d suggest the first,” Dorsey wrote. “You won’t be successful unless you allow yourself to fail in the eyes of others. Risk, creativity, and defining your own path is made possible only through a series of failures. Hide none of them. Show all of them!” he said.
Twitter's recent move of removing millions of suspicious account in its battle against fake new has led to many celebrities, politicians and social media influencers losing followers.
The move didn't spare Twitter's own account either, as the social media's official handle lost about 12 percent of its total followers - about 7.7 million.
