Is it not over yet? Amber Heard likely to appeal against jury verdict after losing in defamation case filed by Johnny Depp
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp had been embroiled in a bitter six-week-long defamation trial.

After a six-week-long dramatic trial Johnny Depp came out on top in the defamation case he had filed against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The actor won on all three counts, and was ecstatic after the verdict was announced. However, it doesn’t seem like Heard is very keen on letting the matter go, and accept the jury verdict after all.
Heard's spokesperson Alafair Hall told The New York Times that the ‘Aquaman’ actress had planned to appeal the decision reached by the jury. According to The Guardian report Lisa Bloom, a US lawyer who represented women whose sexual harassment claims led to the dismissal of the Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly, had said that the fate of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation cases may be decided on appeal since most defamation cases generally get settled that way.
After the verdict, Heard took to her Instagram page to express 'disappointment' over the ruling. "The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband. I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously," said the actress.
Depp, however, was very happy even though the jury also found him guilty of defaming Heard, and said that the US jury had given him his life back by siding with him. The jury, after a six-week trial, found that the ex-couple had both defamed each other. However, they supported Depp's claims far more strongly.
The seven member jury deliberated for more than three days and then found Heard guilty of liable for all three counts of defamation against Johnny Depp.
