Suriya and Jyotika's sprawling bungalow in Chennai is reportedly worth Rs 200 crore. Located in the Mahalingapuram neighbourhood near T Nagar, the house features elegant interiors and is curated with personal touches by Jyotika.
A look at Suriya and Jyotika'sChennai bungalow
The bungalow features high-end amenities including marble flooring, Persian carpets, a dedicated divan room and mini-theatre.According to TOI report, the Chennai bungalow reportedly features an elaborate walk-in closet that resembles a boutique, with neatly arranged racks, mirrored sections and separate spaces for accessories. Interestingly, Suriya's suits are said to be organised according to the characters he has portrayed in his films rather than by brand.
Besides this, the exterior of the bungalow is beautifully surrounded by a landscaped garden filled with lush lawns, flowering plants, bonsai trees and medicinal herbs.
Why they shifted to Mumbai apartment?
However, Suriya and Jyotika left their Chennai bungalow and shifted to 1,7000 sq ft apartment in Mumabi. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter a year ago, Suriya revealed they took this decision. He said, "I can be very open. At the age of 18-19, she shifted to Chennai. For almost 27 years, she was in Chennai and spent only 18 years in Mumbai. She was with my family and me. She gave up her career, friends, relatives and her Bandra lifestyle. Everything was given up, and she was in Chennai."
Suriya further talked about why he loves his Mumbai apartment more than his Rs 200 crore bungalow in Chennai.
"Mumbai is almost like a holiday for me. I work here, then I go for a holiday there. It's a smaller house. We stay in a 1,700 sq ft house," he shared. He loves that everything in his apartment is close by, making the house a cosy and warm space to share with his family. "So, two steps to the bedroom, two steps to the living room, two steps to the kitchen, two steps to the dining area. It's a nice, cosy house, which gives us a lot of comfort. A lot of memories, a lot of warmth, and a lot of love everywhere. I can immediately call Diya or Dev; they are just one step away. Not many people know what we do there, so it's nice," he added.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Suriya was recently seen in Scene alongside Nazriya Nazim and Nasel. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film hit the theatres on November 6.
