The sudden demise of TV comedian Raju Srivastava left many India Inc bosses heartbroken.

The 58-year-old, who dabbled in movies and made a mark in stand-up comedy, passed away on Wednesday morning after spending more than 40 days in the hospital. He was undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after suffering a heart attack on August 10 in Delhi.

Remembering his genius, many businessmen took to social media to mourn the death of the comedian-actor.


Anil Agarwal, Chairman of Vedanta Resources Limited, penned a heartwarming note for the late funny man of India. In his post, he said that he will always remember 'Gajodhar bhaiya', a character Srivastava created after being inspired by a barber in his hometown.

Mourning his loss, the businessman called the stand-up comedian a 'Hassi ka Shahenshah' (the king of laughter). "Raju Srivastav Ji ke nidhan ke baare mein sun kar bohut dukh hua. (I was saddened to hear the news of Srivastava's death) He gave our world the gift of laughter. Condolences to his family during this difficult time," his post read.

Agarwal also shared a picture of the 'Bombay to Goa' star.

Quote-tweeting a post shared by Paytm Insider, entrepreneur Vijay Shekhar Sharma termed Srivastava the 'OG (original gangster) of stand-up)'.


GOQii founder Vishal Gondal quote-tweeted Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's Twitter post with a smiling face with tear emoji. The actor's post read, "You laughed a lot all your life, Raju Bhai… Pray to God that your soul gets peace."

Srivastava was counted as among the most high-profile and experienced comics in the country.
