"I choose to retire from a complete lack of control over the unknown," the 25-year-old said.
Professional badminton champion PV Sindhu sent out a cryptic tweet on Monday afternoon. And naturally, the tweet which had everyone guessing about her next course of action went viral in a short while.

The 25-year-old player, who has won medals for India at Olympics and BWF gold championships, took to Twitter and wrote 'I Retire' in bold letters.
Her statement calling the Denmark Open the 'final straw' had left her fans stunned.

As part of the cryptic tweet - it's not confirmed if this is indeed her retirement note - she also wrote that she may have given her fans a 'mini-heart attack', but went on to say that 'unprecedented times require unprecedented measures'.

"Today, I choose to retire from this current sense of unrest. I retire from this negativity, the constant fear, uncertainty", wrote Sindhu. "I choose to retire from a complete lack of control over the unknown," the 25-year-old added.

The badminton player also took a dig at 'substandard hygiene standards' and 'our lackadaisical attitude' towards the virus. She added that the choices we make define our future and that we must defeat this virus together.

However, what made many wonder was the last part of the message on Twitter in which she wrote that she will also train for the Asia Open tournament.

"Yes, Denmark Open didn't happen but that won't stop me from training. When life comes at you, one must come back twice as hard. So will I for the Asia Open. I refuse to give up without giving a solid fight," her statement read.

Twitter, quite understandably, was left in a tizzy after reading the cryptic post. This netizen felt Sindhu was celebrating Halloween a day late.
