For many working couples, having completely different shift timings at work can be both frustrating and demanding. While one leaves for the office, the other returns home, giving them limited time to spend with each other. Conversations turn into quick check-ins, and holidays become a rare luxury. Recently, a Mumbai-based couple, Ranjit Poojary and Chaitra Shetty, who are originally from Mangalore, shared a playfully heartbreaking video on Instagram where the husband shared facing a similar struggle. Needless to mention, the video has struck the right chord with the masses.

While Ranjit Poojary works in a typical 9-5 corporate job as a sales and marketing professional, his wife Chaitra Shetty is a cabin crew member. Given their opposite professions, their schedules rarely align, with long stretches of time apart and catching up only in fleeting moments between flights and work hours.

Opposite schedules, stronger emotional connection

The video opens to Ranjit Poojary returning from the office in the evening. He points out that while he has just come back, his wife is already ready to leave, since she has to attend a late-night flight. Chaitra Shetty also appears in the same frame, dressed in a quintessential air hostess uniform, carrying luggage.

When Ranjit Poojary asks his whether whether she has eaten dinner, she replies that she has packed her meal. This prompts the husband to highlight her hard work and dedication. ‘I am proud of her. Go far ahead. Earn a lot of money,” he applauds as Chaitra Shetty smiles coyly. The clip concludes with Ranjit waving his wife goodbye as she gets inside a car and leaves for her duty.

Love thrives despite shifting work timings

The post captures the duo’s endearing bond and how they have accepted their mismatched timings, while savouring even the tiniest moments they spend with each other. This also sparks a larger discussion on the challenges of managing meals, consistent communication and maintaining emotional closeness in relationships.

The internet had a field day reacting to the clip. ‘Struggle of the flight crew is real. They have to look fresh and start serving the passengers,’ pointed out a user. ‘God bless you both’, wrote many. ‘Be a role model for each other,’ wished another. Did the video make you smile, or did you find it relatable too?
