How Diycam is getting the healthcare industry ready for AI

AI-based analytics system 'Diycam' is used in hospitals to reduce risk of infections.

Diycam has created an AI-based video analytics system that works as a ‘Hospital Compliance Management System’.
It is reported that one in 25 patients admitted to a hospital suffers from a hospital-acquired infection. But if we can intelligently track doctors, nurses, patients and visitors, we can better understand the sources of such infections and stop them.

Diycam has created an AI-based video analytics system that works as a ‘Hospital Compliance Management System’. This will not only help medical institutions and hospitals reduce the risk of infections, but also increase operational efficiency and improve patient care with less spending.

With the absence of a specialised software for managing compliance, medical officers usually fail to get the right insights about whether hospitals are adhering to necessary policies.

Gagan Deep Randhawa, cofounder, Diycam, said, “We wanted to use AI in health care and tackle a problem that is clinically impactful. It will also help improve the image of the Indian healthcare sector, especially hospitals.”

By using technologies like computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence, Diycam is making it possible — and easy — to collate data collected from various sites and help medical establishments keep a check on their compliance status.

With Diycam Hospital Compliance Management System, hospitals can check if the healthcare professionals are wearing masks, caps, gloves and even aprons inside the ICU. Simply following these steps can help hospitals stop or reduce infections among patients.

There are many startups working on medical imaging but few of them are working on improving the way hospitals and medical institutions operate and work.

Diycam is also working on computer vision solutions that can monitor acute patient safety and longer-term medical compliance to reduce readmissions. This includes cameras and sensors that monitor patient and staff compliance with hand sanitisation policies to reduce infection rates and devices that ensure discharge instructions are followed through.

Diycam is also in the process of signing an MOU with one of the largest cancer care research institutes to jointly develop its ICU-based compliance management system.
