The Ladies’ Wing of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a premier business and professional organisation that has been at the forefront for women empowerment for the past 52 years and counting.
Led by Nayantara Jain for 2017-18, the organisation recently held its annual general meeting and felicitated women stalwarts for their outstanding contribution to their respective fields.
Among those who were felicitated included Deepika Singh Rajawat. Rajawat was awarded the Woman of The Year award for fearlessly fighting the Kathua rape case despite receiving death threats.
Other big names recognised for their work were Manju Srivastava, founder of an NGO lauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Zarin Daruwala for her outstanding contribution in the banking and financial services spanning 30 years.

Advertising guru Ashok Kurien was the guest of honour at the event and Agnelorajesh Athaide, a leading educationist, was the special guest.

Aarti Gupta Surendranath, chairperson of the awards committee of IMC Ladies’ Wing, was the moderator for the evening.
The evening concluded with Mohana Nair and Vanita Bhandari taking over the mantle as the new president and vice-president of the IMC Ladies’ Wing, respectively.
