‘Hold each other’s hands & move ahead in happiness.’ Sanjay Dutt gives marital advice to Ranbir & Alia

Alia Bhatt first met Ranbir Kapoor when the ‘Barfi’ star was assisting film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She was 11-yrs-old at the time, and was called in for a photo shoot for a film called ‘Balika Vadhu’ (which never got made) with Kapoor. The actress had later revealed that she was so shy that she could not perform in front of Ranbir, who instantly became her first crush.

After Alia Bhatt’s glitzy launch in ‘Student Of The Year’, the actress took her first litmus test for acting in the movie, ‘Highway’. However, back in 2014, Bhatt was just a newbie and film-maker Imtiaz Ali needed a star to step-in, and create some buzz around the film. Ranbir Kapoor overtook the job, and the actress had a lovely time doing promotions.

Like every new actress who had confessed their love for the ‘Sanju’ star, Bhatt too, openly proclaimed her fondness for the popular screen idol during her first appearance on ‘Koffee With Karan’. The actress not only said that she found him ‘adorable’ but also revealed that she wants to marry him.

Media reports claim that it was Ayan Mukherji who played cupid in Alia-Ranbir’s relationship.

Although the pair had been in each other’s social circle for long, it was the shoot of ‘Brahmastra’ that brought the two closer. During this time, Kapoor, who had ended a long relationship with Katrina Kaif, saw Bhatt in a new light, and the two fell in love.

Although speculations were rife that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were dating, it wasn’t until Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception that the couple came out in front of the shutterbugs and posed together. Bhatt also made her relationship insta-official and posted a photo of her and Ranbir from Sonam Kapoor’s party

Alia Bhatt is often known for her candidness. The actress wore her heart on her sleeve when she received the Filmfare award for ‘Raazi’. During her acceptance speech, the actress referred to Ranbir as her ‘special one’ and thanked him for making her heart smile, and eyes shine.

The couple turned up the heat on the stage of Zee Cine Awards as they slowly danced making everyone in the audience go ‘aww’.

Both Alia and Ranbir soon became a part of each other’s family. While Alia attended Kapoors’ famous X-mas lunches, and was a pillar of strength for Ranbir and his mother after Rishi Kapoor’s death, Ranbir too hangs out with Alia’s family often, especially with her sister Shaheen.

In the past four years of their relationship, Ranbir and Alia have given us all major vacation goals, with photos of their African safari and Ranthambore trip, as well as their chill-time at Maldives, and escapades in Europe.
