Hero Cycles, Yamaha Motor unveil Lectro EHX20 with detachable battery at Rs 1.3 lakh

Pankaj Munjal-promoted Hero Cycles Tuesday launched an e-cycle in partnership with Yamaha Motor Company - Lectro EHX20 priced at Rs 1.3 lakh.

While the product is being manufactured locally, the electronics being supplied by Yamaha are imported. The product is targeted at consumers in metro markets. The e-cycle comes with a detachable battery and can be fully charged in four hours.




Hero Motors Chairman Pankaj Munjal, said, “It (EHX20) is the first branded e-cycle which is driven by a centre motor and resultantly delivers a high performance experience suitable for extreme adventure sports...we hope to deliver more such path-breaking products for different sections of the Indian audience in future.”

The company expects as many as 20 million bicycles to be sold in the country by 2023. It estimates 10% of this volume will come from e-bikes.
