An employee was shocked to know his salary was cut despite being highly productive
A frustrated and deeply disappointed Reddit participant recently shared his troubling workplace experience on the online community AntiWork, explaining that his employer reduced his income even though he remains the most efficient employee in his role. In his post, the worker described how his compensation structure was suddenly changed from a fixed annual salary to an hourly payment system, resulting in an approximate loss of $3,000 in yearly earnings. What made the situation more upsetting, he explained, was that along with the pay reduction, management assigned him additional duties and expectations.

According to the user, his work performance has consistently exceeded that of his colleagues. He explained that he completes more orders within a shorter period than anyone else in the same position. Despite his strong productivity, the company still decided to restructure his pay in a way that lowered his total income. The situation has left him feeling undervalued and unfairly treated, especially considering the amount of effort he puts into his job every day.

The worker also shared details about his personal circumstances, which make the situation even more challenging. He occasionally needs to step away from the workplace because he is responsible for caring for his family. His wife lives with a disability, and he is also raising two children, one of whom has special needs. Because of these responsibilities, balancing work and family life already requires careful time management and emotional strength. The pay cut and increased workload have therefore added further stress to an already demanding situation.

Feeling discouraged by the decision made by his employer, the user expressed a strong desire to resign from the job. He suggested that he may eventually leave the position without giving advance notice, reflecting the level of frustration he currently feels toward the company.

The post quickly attracted attention from other Reddit users, many of whom sympathized with his experience and criticized the workplace decision. Several commenters suggested that if the company was unwilling to properly compensate him for his productivity, he should stop pushing himself to outperform others. One user jokingly remarked that since his earnings had been reduced, there was no longer any reason for him to remain the top performer.

Another commenter offered similar advice, arguing that highly efficient workers often end up receiving additional tasks rather than meaningful rewards. Instead of overexerting himself, the commenter recommended that he simply complete his duties at a reasonable pace and refuse to accept unfair expectations.
