Vishal Chaturvedi’s Hanuman Ansh continues to attract audiences in theatres even after completing more than five weeks at the box office. The devotional drama, based around the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, has recorded a strong jump in collections during its sixth Saturday. With the film still drawing viewers, attention has now shifted towards its eventual OTT release.

However, there is no confirmed digital release date or streaming platform for Hanuman Ansh yet. In fact, producer Ragini Sona has dismissed reports claiming that the film has already secured a massive Rs 100 crore OTT deal. The makers have made it clear that their immediate focus remains on the theatrical run.

Hanuman Ansh box office collection day-wise

According to Sacnilk.com, Hanuman Ansh earned Rs 18.50 crore nett in India on its sixth Saturday, which was Day 37 of its theatrical run. The film had collected Rs 10.50 crore on its sixth Friday, meaning its Saturday earnings jumped by 76.2% in a single day.

The increase was also visible in the number of shows. Hanuman Ansh had 7,449 shows on Saturday, compared with 5,743 shows on Friday. Its overall occupancy also improved from 38% on Friday to 52% on Saturday.

With the latest collection, the film’s India nett total has reached Rs 192.13 crore. Its India gross collection stands at around Rs 227 crore, while the overseas market has contributed another Rs 9.50 crore. This takes the film’s worldwide gross collection to Rs 236.50 crore.

The Hindi 2D version also recorded a strong response on September 12. The film registered 56.31% overall occupancy during the day. Morning shows recorded 29.77% occupancy, while afternoon shows reached 60.31%. Evening shows saw 66.46% occupancy, with night shows performing the best at 68.69%.

Hanuman Ansh OTT release details

While the box-office numbers continue to grow, reports about the film’s digital deal have also been circulating. Some reports claimed that Hanuman Ansh had received an OTT offer worth Rs 100 crore.

Producer Ragini Sona has now denied those reports. Speaking to NDTV, she said there was no truth to the claims and asked audiences not to pay attention to the speculation. According to her, the makers are more interested in how many people are watching and appreciating the film in theatres than in discussing possible digital offers.

Sona also made it clear that, "Numbers will come and go, and I want to make it clear on my team's behalf that we don't have any such offer, and we don't want any such offers either. Whatever we decide, we will discuss it within the team and take a call. You'll get to know this soon. Watch the film in theatres because even we don't know when the film will come on OTT."

For now, therefore, there is no confirmed OTT platform or release date for Hanuman Ansh. The film remains in theatres as its theatrical journey continues.

Why Hanuman Ansh went to theatres after OTT rejection

The film’s theatrical release also has an interesting backstory. Director-producer Vishal Chaturvedi had previously spoken about approaching an OTT platform with the story before deciding to take it to theatres.

Speaking to India TV, Chaturvedi recalled narrating the story of Maharaj Ji to the streaming platform. He said he became so emotional while describing the story that he broke down during the narration.

According to the filmmaker, the rejection itself was not the biggest issue. He was more affected by the way the response was communicated to him.

Instead of giving up on the project, the filmmaker decided to take Hanuman Ansh to the big screen. Its current box-office performance has given that decision a strong boost, with the film crossing Rs 190 crore in India nett after 37 days.

The film stars Shobhinaw Satya in the lead role, alongside Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel. For viewers waiting to watch Hanuman Ansh at home, the wait continues for an official announcement from the makers regarding its OTT partner and digital premiere.
