Manish Singh, who works at Google in Bengaluru, recently shared a video on Instagram showing his grandfather visiting the company’s campus. The clip does not rely on big moments or dramatic visuals. Instead, it captures small, everyday things that somehow feel heavier with meaning.
From sitting together in the cafeteria to walking around the open campus, the two spent time just being with each other. There were no formalities, no rush, just a slow day filled with conversations, laughter and shared time.
Childhood lessons coming full circle
In the video, Singh spoke about what the moment meant to him. He said, “When I was young, my grandfather always used to say that my Nanaji would do something big one day. And today, when I was showing him my Google campus, the smile and the pride on his face was worth seeing. Today, when I was having lunch with him in the cafeteria, he was overwhelmed with joy.”What stood out in the video was not just the visit, but the memories attached to it. Singh shared how the day brought him back to his childhood, especially moments he had almost forgotten.
The video shows them cycling together across the campus paths, something that carried a deeper meaning for Singh. It was not just about riding a bicycle again, but about reversing roles in a way that felt natural.
He added, “Then we went to ride a bike for a while and seeing his childhood, the child inside me was waking up again. I sat down with my mother, father, and Nanaji to play carrom for a while, and after playing for a while, I thought let's go and relive my childhood again with my Nanaji on a bicycle.”
‘His Smile Meant Everything’
Sharing the video, Singh summed up the experience in a line that many people connected with. He wrote, “From his dreams… to my reality. Today I got to show my Nanaji the place I once only dreamed about — Google. The smile on his face > everything I’ve achieved.”That one line became the takeaway for many viewers. The focus was not the workplace or the achievement, but the expression on his grandfather’s face.
Internet Calls It ‘Real Success’
The video quickly gained attention online, with users responding to its simplicity. Many pointed out that moments like these define success more than professional milestones. One user wrote, “This is the real success, making your family feel proud.” Another commented, “His smile says everything, no words needed.” A third added, “Google campus is special, but Nanaji’s happiness made it priceless.”
At its core, the video is about something many people understand but do not always express. It shows what it means to go back to the people who shaped you and share your wins with them.
There are no big speeches in the clip, just a grandson walking his grandfather through his world, the same way he was once guided as a child. Somewhere between a bicycle ride and a shared meal, the past and present meet quietly.
