In 2017, Adele had bagged all the top awards as she took home five Grammys that year including Album of the Year for '25'.

Whereas Beyoncé won two awards including the best music video for 'Formation' and best urban contemporary album for 'Lemonade'.

While Beyoncé's fans, called the Beyhive, were not too happy about it and complained of possible racism in the voting, Adele had thanked the 'Halo' singer and even paid homage to her during her speech.

While accepting the Album of the Year award, Adele had called Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' album "monumental".

“It was so monumental and so well thought out and so beautiful and soul-bearing, and we all got to see another side of you that you don’t always let us see and we appreciate that,” Adele said from the stage to Beyoncé, who sat in the audience. “You are our light.”

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar and Harry Styles are also top contenders this time. Lamar is right behind Beyoncé in the race with eight nominations, whereas Harry Styles is competing in six categories.
