Recently, two people who bought packed salads from a Walmart in Florida found a dead bat inside. If you think that’s bad, take a look at other such food intruders:

Nails in mac ‘n’ cheese

A macaroni cheese packet bought from a Tesco store in England had more than just pasta and cheese. It had some nails in it too. A woman who consumed it was hospitalised. The supermarket took the mac n cheese off the shelves soon after.

A soldier in Hawaii was enjoying his Burger King meal at home in Honolulu when he bit into a needle that pierced his tongue. After being hospitalised, he filed a lawsuit in the US District court Razor blade in Ice cream In February 2011, an East Texas resident found a piece of razor blade in her ice-cream tub. Despite calling Walmart to complain about it, the only response she received was, “Sorry I hope your day gets better.”

You may have heard of teeth getting stuck while eating chocolates, but how often do you find someone else’s tooth buried inside a chocolate bar? In 2010, a consumer in California found a tooth with a silver filling stuck inside her candy bar. To make matters worse, the chocolate company offered her a coupon for a candy bar as an apology.

Imagine the irony that a tiny worm found its way into a cake shaped like a caterpillar. A UK resident bought a low-fat cake shaped like a caterpillar from a weight management company in 2011 when she found the squiggly worm inside. Safe to say, she’s off cake for good.
