Friday OTT releases of the week: Vishwanath and Sons to Stolen Heartbeats to The Revolutionaries, new movies and shows on Netflix, JioHotstar, Prime Video and ZEE5

The weekend is almost here, and streaming platforms are bringing a mix of family drama, action, historical stories, dark comedy and supernatural thrillers. If you are planning to stay indoors and catch up on something new, there are several titles arriving this Friday. From a big South Indian film making its digital debut to a historical series based on India's freedom struggle, this week's lineup has plenty of variety.

Vishwanath and Sons – Netflix

Vishwanath and Sons is Suriya and Mamitha Baiju's family drama, directed by Venky Atluri. The story follows Sanjay Vishwanath, a successful industrialist who appears to have his life under control. Things begin to change when Maddy, a medical student, grows close to his family and enters his carefully planned world.


The film stars Suriya and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, with Radikaa Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in supporting parts. Vishwanath and Sons starts streaming on Netflix on September 11 and is available in multiple Indian languages.

The digital release comes after the film's theatrical run, giving viewers who missed it in cinemas a chance to watch the family drama from home.

Ghamasaan – ZEE5

Ghamasaan takes viewers to the rugged landscape of Bundelkhand, where a dangerous manhunt becomes the centre of the story. The action thriller follows Maharaj, a feared dacoit leader played by Arshad Warsi, and Aditya, an STF officer portrayed by Pratik Gandhi.

The two characters find themselves on opposite sides of a tense pursuit. Aditya enters Maharaj's territory while attempting to track him down, but the operation soon turns into something much bigger than a straightforward police mission.

The story also touches upon political corruption, power struggles and the forces working behind the scenes. As the chase moves forward, Aditya has to deal with challenges that go beyond simply finding the wanted criminal. Ghamasaan is streaming on ZEE5.



The Revolutionaries – Prime Video

The Revolutionaries brings India's freedom struggle to the screen through the stories of young revolutionaries. Inspired by true events, the historical action-drama follows four freedom fighters who become part of an underground movement against the British Raj.

The series stars Bhuvan Bam as Rash Behari Bose, Pratibha Ranta as Pratibha Lahiri, Rohit Saraf as Sachindra Nath Sanyal and Gurfateh Pirzada as Bagha Jatin. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, The Revolutionaries premieres on Prime Video on September 11, 2026.

The show is based on Sanjeev Sanyal's bestselling non-fiction book and explores the lesser-seen side of the freedom movement. It will be available in Hindi, along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.

Varavu – ZEE5

Varavu is a Malayalam action thriller led by Joju George. The film follows Polachan, who returns to his hometown after spending years away. His homecoming brings old tensions back into focus, while the mystery surrounding his brother Willy's disappearance continues to trouble the family.

Directed by Shaji Kailas, the film also features Arjun Ashokan, Saniya Iyappan, Murali Gopy and Vani Viswanath. Varavu begins streaming on ZEE5 on September 11.

Go Team! – Netflix

For viewers looking for something lighter but equally chaotic, Spanish dark comedy Go Team! arrives on Netflix. The story follows employees of a struggling cheese company who are sent to a remote village for a team-building retreat.

What begins as a workplace exercise takes a sharp turn when the employees discover that mass layoffs are on the way. Office politics, rivalries and survival instincts soon take over, turning the retreat into an unusual battle among colleagues.



Stolen Heartbeats – Netflix

Stolen Heartbeats takes a darker route with a supernatural mystery. The story follows Anabel, who falls into a coma after a brutal attack, and Rafael, a nurse with the unusual ability to hear the dead.

Rafael joins forces with Anabel as they try to keep her alive while dealing with people who are closing in on them. The supernatural thriller combines mystery, danger and the question of what happens when the living and the dead can communicate.

Go Team! and Stolen Heartbeats are both available on Netflix from September 11, 2026, giving viewers two very different options for the weekend.
