For the love of F1: When Mercedes-Benz India boss met a 'humble & nice' Lewis Hamilton
At the US Grand Prix, Hamilton won his sixth Formula One title.

At the US Grand Prix over the weekend, Lewis Hamilton won his sixth Formula One title. The Mercedes driver wrapped up the championship with two races to spare. Such has been the dominance of the Brit. He is now just one championship title away from the all time highest title wins that is held by Michael Schumacher.
A few weeks ago, Mercedes-Benz India head, Martin Schwenk was in Mumbai for an event where he lauded the F1 team for their constructors win. The Mercedes F1 team and car company are like one big happy family he had said. Now, once again, the team has won both the constructors as well as the driver's title. The joy must be tremendous for the brand as a whole.
Speaking to ET Panache, Schwenk shared his meeting with Hamilton in China, a couple of years ago. "I have met Lewis Hamilton. But not this time. I met him one and a half years ago in Shanghai during a facility opening around the race weekend. He is a very humble and nice guy," he said.
Schwenk has been in India for a year now and says he is sad that the sport is not being held here. He does watch a few races on television. "We don't have Formula One in India anymore, so after that I have not had a chance to meet Lewis, this year. I have met him, but I am not sure he will remember me," he ended with a chuckle.
