Having struggled for years with what she calls ‘chubbesity’, Upasana Konidela has made it her life’s mission to help others eat healthier. One of her pet battles: helping employees beat that mid-afternoon slump.

According to Konidela, the managing director of Apollo Life, the way to improve employee productivity could be through their stomach.

In a recent interview to a business magazine, she said, “We did a study across various corporate canteens to map employee productivity as linked to meals and found that productivity dips between 2 and 4 pm because the lunch served in most office canteens is unhealthy,” explained Konidela.

“Food that is good for you should make you feel energetic, not lethargic.”
