Five ways to drive away the monsoon blues
Almost everyone welcomes the season’s first rains. However, gloomy skies & grey buildings can bring down even the most optimistic soul.

Get moving
Summer bodies are made in the monsoon. Kick off a home workout routine to improve your mood and get a better body in the bargain. Monsoon means you are going to be stuck indoors for a good portion of your day. Make the most of your imprisonment and get some gym gear at home. Dumbbells, a skipping rope and a yoga mat are good ways to start. Exercise releases endorphins aka the happy hormone which can help keep the monsoon blues at bay.
Brighten up
A dull day may make you feel like reaching for your black trousers and grey shirt. But the best way to get rid of the blues is to brighten up with hues. When you’re feeling low, don’t pick the“safe” clothes that complement your sullen mood. Instead, take a risk with a yellow tie, red sneakers or even just a pink shirt; it can elevate your mood. You’ll feel more energised and in a better frame of mind. Don’t believe us? Just try it out.
People person
Misery loves company and that’s why you need to give your fellow blues club members the skip this season and embrace the sunshine gang. Bonding with a coworker or friend who is as down-in-the-dumps as you is only going to make you feel worse. Instead, meet with people who have a more positive frame of mind. You will automatically stop thinking everything is gloom and doom and start seeing the silver lining to your cloudy day.
