NEW DELHI: Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to complete the 45th anniversary of his theatrical journey in Tamil cinema industry in a week.

The 69-year old actor took to Twitter on Sunday to thank his fans after hashtags such as #45YearsofRajinismCDP and #Neengal Illamal Nan Illai, after a Tamil song featuring him which roughly translates to 'I would not be without you', started trending.

The 'Robot' star's fans and many celebrities which included Mohanlal started sharing Rajini's Common Display Picture (CDP), celebrating 45 years of 'Rajinism' in Tamil cinema. The picture encapsulates several avatars of the actor in Tamil cinema since his early days in the field.



Rajinikanth's debut Tamil movie, a K Balachander directorial, 'Apoorva Ragangal' released on August 15, 1975, and the 69-year old actor has acted in over 170 movies.

A battalion of celebrities including actor Mohanlal, directors Ranjith, Karthick Subbaraj, dance master Raghava Lawrence, producer Thanu, former cricketer Hemang Badani greeted the top star and released the CDP.
