Express yourself: Users rejoice as Twitter finally adds emoji reactions to DMs

The folks at Twitter teased the new feature with a tongue-in-cheek tweet.
In what can be called a long-awaited update, Twitter, on Thursday, announced that it will be rolling out the emoji reactions for Direct Message chat to all users on web, Android and iOS.
For the uninitiated, the feature allows users to assign a response to each text message, much like the feature in Facebook messenger, which was introduced in 2017.
The folks at Twitter teased the new feature with a tongue-in-cheek tweet.
Then, Twitter’s official support handle, @TwitterSupport, responded to the tweet announcing the much-awaited feature.

To add a reaction, the users have to tap the heart icon which appears when they hover over the message and select the reaction. They can also double tap the message to select the reaction.
The latest feature includes seven new reactions and one can add an emoji reaction to any type of Direct Message be it text or media attachments.
