AirAsia boss signs out of Twitter, calls social media an 'angry place'
Tony Fernandes said he will be less on social media this year.

“Have closed Facebook and Twitter (two million followers). Been a blast since 2008, but original ideals gone. Has been a huge help to me, but time to move on. Too much fake news, hate and anger. Stay strong. Be positive and be brave,” he wrote on his Instagram. Instagram is one of only two social media platforms that Fernandes is currently using. He had closed his Facebook account last year after the New Zealand terror attacks, citing “hate being transmitted”.
Going by his caption, it’s unsure how long he plans to continue being on Instagram too. “Two platforms left: LinkedIn Instagram. Let’s see,” he said.
