Speaking on a panel titled ‘The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler’, Khan joined director Karan Johar and actor Deepika Padukone for a lively fireside chat. According to reports in PTI, Shah Rukh Khan said that he does not “indulge in overworking, overthinking.” When he is not on the sets, he said he does not do anything and is in a “meditative state”, when asked about his approach to life off-screen.
Shah Rukh Khan also reflected on his younger years and called himself “brash, overconfident, reckless, and a lot more stupid”. He also said he was “a little gutsy”. He added, “Thank you, young Shah Rukh Khan for being so cool,” drawing laughter and applause.
At the same event, Shah Rukh Khan had the audience in splits as he opened up about his role at home, admitting that his kids find him more amusing than authoritative. Whether he's trying to lay down rules or offer fatherly advice, his children apparently can’t take him seriously, often reacting with mock drama. He joked that despite his superstar status, he's more of a punchline in his own household.
Blending humour with heartfelt insight, Khan also reflected on the importance of laughter in relationships. He suggested that being able to make your children—or even your parents—laugh can be one of the most fulfilling ways to stay connected and never feel alone.
