Elon Musk names baby X Æ A-12, Twitter tries to decode it with hilarious memes

Musk is not the only famous parent to give his child a rather ‘unique’ name.

Elon Musk's baby-naming skills, let’s just say, have left Twitterati less than impressed.
Baby names, contrary to how it may seem on the surface, can stir up quite a few debates and meme trends on the Twitterverse. A few years ago, it was actor Saif Ali Khan naming his son ‘Taimur’ that caused a furore on Twitter.

Reality TV star and socialite Kim Kardashian, also got trolled massively for naming her first-born, ‘North’ West.

Kim named her kids North, Chicago, Saint and Psalm West.

From Cardi B and Gwyneth Paltrow naming their kids ‘Kulture’ and ‘Apple’, to Jason Lee calling his newborn ‘Pilot Inspektor’, Hollywood celebs often go for out-of-the-box names for their tiny tots.

Now, it’s tech mogul and Tesla co-founder Elon Musk whose baby-naming skills, let’s just say, have left Twitterati less than impressed. The Space X CEO named his newborn ‘X Æ A-12’, which, on the first look, appears like a random sequence of numbers, but as Musk’s significant other, singer Grimes says, each character has a significance and represents something important.

Apparently, the 'X' stands for "the unknown variable," 'Æ' is the musician's 'elven spelling of Ai (love &/or artificial intelligence),' 'A-12' is, as gathered, a reference to the Lockheed A-12, or, in Grimes' words, the 'precursor to [the] SR-17 (our favourite aircraft). No weapons, no defences, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent."

The 'Genesis' singer added, "A=Archangel, my favourite song," before wrapping things up with the words "metal rat."

For starters, one can’t help but empathise with the struggle of the school teachers of the young boy who would have a hard time trying to pronounce his name during the roll call. Or perhaps, one can relate to the poor boy who would, in all probability, have to go on explaining his rather lengthy and convoluted name each time he meets someone.

It seems like days when parents named their kids after fruits, flowers or something philosophical are long gone.

But the question remains - do all scientists and tech moguls name their kids after a seemingly coherent sequence of random alphabets which makes a lot of sense to them, but not so much to others? Well, there’s plenty of evidence which suggests otherwise.

It also seems like days when parents named their kids after fruits, flowers or something philosophical are long gone. Naming kids after scientific variables, complicated mathematical equations and symbols which aren’t found on a keyboard is the new fad.

Twitterati couldn’t help but give its hilarious take on the rather otherworldly name given by Musk to his newborn and came up with lots of memes that, one can argue, even Grimes and Musk would laugh at.

Netizens understood the struggle both junior Musk and his teacher would face on his first day at school.

Next time the Tesla power couple asks X Æ A-12 to go to his room, he might cross over to a new dimension.

And maybe, he might have the power to regenerate his body parts.

This is probably how he would look if he showed up to his parents’ bedroom door at 3 am.

And, of course, the pronunciation of the name still remains a mystery.

Next time X Æ A-12 misbehaves, his mom might just power him off.

And the ‘robotic’ memes kept on coming.

Kudos to Musk and Grimes for their baby-naming skills. All of us could learn a thing or two from them!
