Edelweiss sexual harassment case: CEO Rashesh Shah sends e-mail to employees
Any complaint of sexual harassment by an employee has the potential to send tremors of disquiet through an organisation. A source reveals that to allay concerns, especially those of women colleagues, Edelweiss Financial Services sent out an internal mail.

Signed by CEO Rashesh Shah, the letter, while referring to the complaint, also assured employees that the matter had been dealt with seriousness and “action" had been taken.

Importantly, the note reiterated the fact that proper policies, as laid down by Vishaka Guidelines, were in place within the company.

The letter, reveals a source, was sent to all employees, following the findings of the internal eight-member anti-sexual harassment committee that inquired into a woman employee's allegation that a senior executive sought sexual favours to advance her career.

The employee has since lodged a police complaint.

In response, Edelweiss has refuted the allegations, saying that its internal enquiry found the allegations false and inturn , has accused the employee of data theft.
