According to early estimates by Sacnilk.com, Drishyam 3: The Conclusion collected Rs 61 crore net in India on Day 3. With this, the film's India net collection has reached Rs 176.50 crore, while its India gross collection stands at Rs 211.80 crore.The film has also performed strongly in overseas markets. It earned an estimated Rs 20 crore on Sunday, taking its overseas gross collection to Rs 61 crore. Its worldwide gross collection currently stands at Rs 272.80 crore. With the film already close to Rs 273 crore after just three days, crossing the Rs 300 crore mark globally appears within reach.
Drishyam 3 records a strong opening weekend
The film had a strong start on its opening day, collecting Rs 62 crore net in India. Saturday saw a slight dip, with the film earning Rs 53.50 crore. However, the decline was short-lived as the film bounced back on Sunday with Rs 61 crore.The three-day total has taken Drishyam 3 past the Rs 170 crore mark in India. The Sunday numbers have also helped the film secure a place among the biggest opening weekends for a Hindi film.
The strong weekend was not entirely unexpected. The film's advance bookings had already indicated that audiences were showing considerable interest in the final chapter. Advance bookings for the opening weekend crossed Rs 50 crore before release, with around 13 lakh tickets reportedly sold ahead of its theatrical debut.
Fourth-biggest opening day for a Hindi film
With Rs 62 crore net on its opening day, Drishyam 3 registered one of the biggest opening days for a Hindi film. The figure placed it fourth on the list of highest Hindi film openers, according to the available box-office data.The film continued its momentum through the weekend, despite Saturday's dip. Its Sunday collection of Rs 61 crore helped push its three-day India net total to Rs 176.50 crore.
The film also recorded around 42% occupancy during its Sunday morning shows across India. Several tier-2 and tier-3 centres reportedly recorded even stronger occupancy, indicating that the franchise has found audiences beyond the major metropolitan markets.
Drishyam 3 beats Shaitaan, The Raja Saab and others
The impressive opening weekend has also allowed Drishyam 3 to overtake the lifetime collections of several recent releases.The film had already crossed Salman Khan's Sikandar, which reportedly ended its theatrical run with around Rs 107 crore in India. During the weekend, it also moved ahead of Prabhas' The Raja Saab, which had a reported lifetime collection of around Rs 138 crore.
Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2, with around Rs 150 crore, has also been surpassed. Interestingly, Drishyam 3 has even crossed the lifetime collection of Ajay Devgn's own supernatural thriller Shaitaan, which earned around Rs 144 crore in India.
At Rs 176.50 crore net in India after three days, the film is now within touching distance of the Rs 180 crore mark.
