Dr. D's column: Elon Musk wants to know how to stop the criticism

Hey, Dr D!

What’s the D stand for? Let me guess… Dysprosium? Am sure it’s an element in the periodic table beginning with a D.

Anyway, enough about you. Here’s some stuff about me. I make electric cars! I produce the Model S, the Model 3 and the Model X. You see if you put them all together, they (sort of) spell out s3x. Juvenile, yes, but clever and amusing — like me!


Now then, in the recent past, Doctor D (Dubnium?) I’ve been getting a lot of flak for calling this cave rescuer a pedo, and for that I had to apologise. People question why I said it in the first place. But isn’t it obvious? European middle aged fellow + hanging around in Thailand + looking for young boys (and finding them in a cave!) = pedo. The equation looks right in my book!

And in any case, let’s see here...

Oh yeah. Definitely pedo. And then there’s all the idiotic (and incompetent!) criticism I’ve been receiving for not nailing my production numbers on the Model 3. Right! Like people actually understand the science before shooting off their mouths, because look at this...

iPhone leak

Apple may be the best at making phones, but it's certainly not the best at tweeting. The tech giant's Twitter handle accidentally leaked the announcement of the iPhone 7 ahead of time. Just as the launch began, Apple tweeted-"The new water-resistant iPhone 7. Learn more at apple.com/iPhone 7." The first tweet was sent out at 6.01 pm, just after the event had kicked off, but before the iPhone had actually been unveiled on stage by Tim Cook. It was followed by a series of promoted tweets that revealed the new iPhone 7 features. The tweet also linked to a website that had not yet been set live.

In August this year, Union Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted the government's achievement of illuminating 50,000 km of Indian roads with LED lights. The Twitter CFO slipped up and tweeted a message to all his followers that was supposed to be a direct message. In what appeared to be a hiring strategy, Noto's tweet read – "I still think we should buy them. He is on your schedule for Dec 15 or 16—we will need to sell him. I have a plan." The post deleted within minutes, but not before it was screengrabbed by some his savvy 8,700 followers.
