According to the press service of the "Thousand-Bed Hospital," the young Russian man had confidently accepted the challenge, likely enticed by a tempting reward. However, he underestimated the toll such extreme exertion could take on his body. During the challenge, he began to experience discomfort, but he pushed through, unaware of the severe consequences awaiting him.
What happened after he undertook the squat challenge?
As he continued squatting, his legs began swelling abnormally, turning into visibly enlarged, fluid-filled limbs. Soon after, he noticed another alarming symptom—his urine had turned dark brown. The situation worsened when he was unable to urinate at all, signaling a serious internal issue. Realizing the gravity of his condition, he sought medical help.Doctors immediately admitted him to the nephrology department, where test results confirmed a dangerous level of creatinine and urea in his bloodstream, indicating acute kidney failure. His bloodwork also revealed high levels of uremia, suggesting that toxins were accumulating in his system, posing a severe risk to his overall health. Further examination showed that his kidneys were functioning at only 50% of their normal capacity.
Kidney failure?
Fortunately, medical specialists were able to treat his kidney failure without the need for dialysis. However, permanent damage was unavoidable, and he now faces a long road to recovery, which could take anywhere from three months to a year. His kidney function remains compromised, requiring close monitoring and rehabilitation.Hospital officials emphasized the importance of balancing physical fitness with self-awareness and moderation. While exercise is beneficial, pushing the body beyond its limits can have dire consequences.
